No, this is not that option. The option is about the location of the extracted icon file, and not about the content of the extracted icon image. The manual does explain it, it's been said in different forms multiple times in this thread, and even caps were used to convey it better (hence the splitting hairs thingy). My original reason for this enquiry was to find out if this is the option I need that could allow showing my own .ico .png .jpg, etc, for each index item to allow not the inbuilt icons to be used, but for each file to have it's own icon based on this path setting?
Even if it doesn't do what you need? It wouldn't make any sense to do it since it would serve you no purpose, let alone the fact that you can easily do it yourself in a simple sample code (not in your larger actual skin), if you're curious. As for how to do what you need, simple: use your own images and forget about extracting icons from files via Type=Icon (IconPath featured or not), because the latter ones will always be either the ones embedded in the file itself, or the ones assigned to that file type by the operating system and its file association:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File_associationAn example would help if you don't mind please.
Was the above finally successful in describing what you wanted to know?
